Crickhowell Open Studios 2022 (the return!)

After missing for two years due to the pandemic, Crickhowell Open Studios returned this year. It took place over the long Jubilee bank holiday, 2nd-5th of June.

I was lucky to have a detail of one of my oil paintings of agapanthus on the cover of the guide and I splashed out on a full page inside.

This year I was lucky to be given the chance to display my work in the windows of Crickhowell Optometrists, a big thank you to them. I was only expecting to be able to display one print in a shop window, I managed to easily fit 5 in. I was really pleased with how they looked and many people commented that they had first seen my work there and then decided to visit my studio.

It has been great meeting lots of people and talking about my motivations and techniques for making art. Lots of question, explanations, demonstrations, a few cups of tea/coffee and even some cake!

For the first two days, the sun shone and visitors were able to sit in the garden and watch the new foals in the field opposite. Rain stopped play outside on the Saturday and Sunday but many people still dropped in.

My studio hasn't been so tidy for the last three years. Now I'm really, really trying to keep it that way. Early this morning I took down the direction arrows that helped visitors find my studio and sat and had a cuppa thinking of what to do for next years event.

Thank you to everyone who visited for Crickhowell Open Studios and a massive thanks to Suzette and all of the 'crew' at Oriel Cric gallery ( https://visitcrickhowell.wales/cric-centre/gallery ) involved in organising this brilliant event.

I've got some prints to get in the post, then I'm going to take it easy today.
