It's been a busy year!
There have been some successes.
I've managed to make 5 new reduction linocut prints but I've finished fewer paintings than usual.
The printing year started with Swimming in Stars. It is an edition of 45 and has been very popular. I won't say much about the individual prints here, just add a link to the individual blogs about how and why they were made... https://www.truefitt-baker.co.uk/post/swimming-in-stars-otter
Next was Deluge, another very popular print. Now in December, there are only a couple of the edition of 30 remaining in my plan chest. These are already promised for exhibitions in 2025... https://www.truefitt-baker.co.uk/post/deluge
Magpie Silver was reworking of an earlier (2017) composition in acrylic...https://www.truefitt-baker.co.uk/post/magpie-silver-reduction-linocut
Sun Swallows was a bright, warm, happy design for summer. A bit of a challenge I'd set myself, to make a jigsaw reduction print. it's an edition of 30... https://www.truefitt-baker.co.uk/post/sun-swallows-a-reduction-jigsaw-print
Last print of the year was Snow Fox. I only just managed to get this print finished and dry just before Christmas. So far it has been quite popular!... I've still got to make a blog post about how and why it was made.
Two calendars for 2025 have been published this year, each containing images of 12 of my wildlife prints. One for Flame Tree Publishing (my 3rd for them, with 2026 to follow) and one for the RSPB! (Carousel are the publisher). Art Angels are still supplying several of my designs as greetings cards and another publisher, the Orwell Press, has published my Blustery Day Badger as a card.
I've self published a few of my own designs and sales through Etsy have been good, more than covering costs already. I try to think of cards as little advertisements for my work. Both the person who buys a card and the person who receives them, see the design and may then look at some of my original artwork and designs.
